Can Avery Help A Team?

With Sean Avery clearing waivers and being assigned to the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack, the Dallas Stars are close to being finished with the troubled forward. The question remains if he can be a valuable member of another club.

The New York Rangers have been hinted at as the most likely destination for Avery. He brings grit and enough offense for it to be worthwhile, but will he be too much of a locker room distraction to make enough of an impact?

My guess is that the Ranges ultimately do give him another shot. It won’t cost them a player and they could definitely use any boost offensively that they can get right now.
